CPC10111 – Certificate I in Construction

This program provides an introduction to the construction industry, its culture, occupations, job roles and workplace expectations. The units of competency cover essential work health and safety requirements, the industrial and work organisation structure, communication skills, work planning, and basic use of tools and materials. The qualification is built around a basic construction project unit that integrates the skills and embeds the facets of employability skills in context.

Entry Requirements

It is preferred that students have had some workshop experience in a Design and Technology course and have an interest in construction activities.

 

Pathway Out

Certificate II in Construction Pathways and/or the Certificate III (Trade qualifications).

This program investment fee is $1,250.00 (funding may be available to eligible students)

 

Course Duration & Hours

The course duration is generally held over 2 semesters (1 day per week), you will also need to complete 15 days work placement on a building site.

 

The total expected hours are 366 approximately (this includes both in class hours and external study hours).

It is preferred that students have had some workshop experience in a Design and Technology course at Year 10 level or beyond and have an interest in practical work and hand skills.

The qualification packaging rules consists of the successful completion of 11 units (8 Core + 3 Electives)
